We all know the words sun and sand first tend to conjure up a picture of holidays by the sea….. however it was far from a holiday when Sergeant Ronan Carey from Dromiskin, Co. Louth braved the blistering sun and sand when he treked across the Sahara desert for Jack and Jill in the Marathon Des Sables last April.
Ronan’s wonderful donation of €5,000 which he raised in sponsorship from family, friends and colleagues will greatly support Jack and Jill children in Ronan’s community whereby we currently have 7 children in the Louth area under our umbrella and have provided home nursing care to 42 children since 1997.
We are delighted that Ronan made it home safe and sound to tell many wonderful and unforgettable stories of his adventure!
