Sam’s 3rd Annual Lunch in aid of the Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation in Four Seasons Hotel, Dublin on Friday 14th May
On the 14th May over 150 people from the business, political and entertainment world gathered at the Four Seasons Hotel in Ballsbridge for “Sam’s Lunch” an annual tribute to baby Sam, the son of Jo and John Nolan from Blackrock Dublin and brother of Amy, who passed away in June 2008 aged 13 months as a consequence of an extremely rare brain condition. Sam required 24 hour care and the Jack & Jill Foundation supported the Nolan family in providing home nursing care for him. Baby Sam himself made a grand appearance at his first lunch in 2008 but sadly passed away five weeks later. There was a full house to remember Sam and all the happiness he radiated onto those he met throughout his short but action packed life.
According to Mum Jo, “Sam lived life like a May fly, always smiling, full of energy and packing lots of fun into every day, not surprising when you consider he was born on May Day.
The annual event, as always, was a huge success raising much needed funds for Jack and Jill. Our thanks to Jo, John and Amy and to all those who supported the event.
Watch Jo’s interview on TV3 here >>
I would just like to say that I watched Jo on morning television this morning and i thought that she was amazing and did a really positive interview. I could see that she is an immensly strong person and that baby Sam would have been very lucky to have her for a mother and John for a father. Likewise Jo and John have been so blessed to have been loved and to give love to a true angel on earth. Nearly everything Jo said made very real sense to me as we too lost a little boy in april 2008 to a neurological condition. Also in our case, Jack and Jill were amazing wonderful people who helped us through a very difficult time. It was a very brave thing to do that interview but she did a fantastic job and Sam would be so proud. xx
