The damp weather did not deter the crowds from descending on the beautiful surroundings of Mount Juliet on Saturday, 13th February for the annual Run Mount Juliet. With over 850 registered, the annual Half marathon, 10K and 2K family run was a huge success yet again with participants coming from the length and breadth of the country together with their many supporters in tow.
The atmosphere was lively and vibrant and a hive of activity transcending the normal serene, tranquility of the area. With tea, coffee soup and sandwiches, goody bags, face painting and chocolates sponsored by Lily O’Briens, topped off by prizes galore, there were many happy face to be seen.
Jack & Jill were delighted to be the chosen beneficiary for this fundraising event, the proceeds of which will provide home nursing hours for our profoundly sick children in Kilkenny and the surrounding counties
Our sincere thanks to Caroline Walsh and the Mount Juliet team for choosing our Foundation and for all the hard work and dedication that is put into making this growing and well organised event such a wonderful success. Sincere thanks also to former Kilkenny hurling great, Henry Shefflin and Kilkenny Olympian Joanne Cuddihy for their support of the run and for getting everyone under “starters orders”.
We would also like to thank the many volunteers whose support was invaluable and who gave up their precious time to help with the many tasks involved.
