Record numbers took to the hills of Kenmare for the annual Jack & Jill Run Up the Hill.
Despite the recession and the rain, over 1,000 people took to the hills on
Saturday 24th April for the annual Jack & Jill Run up The Hill 2010 in
Kenmare to raise money for Jack & Jill.
Chief organizer was Kenmare postmaster John O’Sullivan whose son Sean was
supported by the Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation after he had a fall in
2007 at the age of 20 months which led to a brain bleed. Sean spent 10 days
in intensive care and it was touch and go for a while. His prospects were
bleak with profound disability predicted. Jack & Jill supported the
O’Sullivan family with home nursing care & thankfully Sean who will soon be
5 years old is a very intelligent little boy today who has come on in leaps
and bounds, quite literally. He is a fantastic graduate of the Jack & Jill
home nursing care model and his main requirement now is speech and language
therapy and he is doing very well in his local preschool.
Our thanks to John and his family for their continued support of Jack and Jill, and to all those who took part in the run.
