Locals are encouraged to support 3 children currently under the care of Jack and Jill in Monaghan by shopping, volunteering or donating pre-loved items to the boutique.
The Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation has opened a new charity boutique at 44/45 Dublin Street Monaghan selling a fantastic selection of pre-loved clothes, accessories, toys, books, LEGO and household items.
The newly opened boutique is raising much-needed funds to help support 3 children currently under Jack and Jill’s care across Co. Monaghan.
Stacey Bohanna, Head of Retail at the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation said: “We are so proud and thrilled to be opening a new charity boutique in Monaghan, which is so important to our fundraising drive to support in-home nursing and respite care for local families across Monaghan, and beyond. We are currently supporting 3 local families, and since our service began in 1997, we have provided much-needed care for 38 families across the county.
“Our fabulous new boutique will be a real meeting point for our community, and we are looking forward to welcoming locals, whether they are donating pre-loved items or in search of a bargain, or even giving us a few hours of their time to volunteer.
Our boutique will be a treasure trove and provide a warm welcome to all. We have a mammoth fundraising hill of €7.5M to raise each year, to keep our vital service going to support children in Monaghan and across the country, so all help is welcome, needed and appreciated,” Stacey concluded.
Martina Lee Shop Manager of the new charity boutique said: “We are delighted to have opened in our lovely new premises on Dublin Street. We have already received great support, with some fabulous new items donated to us which are ready to purchase. I am really looking forward to managing this beautiful new charity boutique and working with our wonderful volunteers to make this a great place to shop for our customers.”
Funds raised through sales in the new Jack and Jill charity boutique go to provide in-home nursing care and respite support to local families caring for children, up to the age of six, with severe learning disability associated with complex medical needs. Typically, these children may be tube fed, oxygen dependent, may not sleep, take seizures, need a lot of medication and require around-the-clock care. Understandably, their parents can be exhausted and need a break, which is where Jack and Jill comes in. Our service operates 7 days a week, with no means test, no red tape and no waiting list. Another key part of our service is end-of-life-care for all children up to the age six, irrespective of diagnosis, empowering parents to take their child home to die at this most difficult time.
The charity boutique will open Tuesday to Saturday from 10.00 am to 5.30pm and is currently recruiting volunteers who can spare a few hours a week to make a real difference to local families. For more information, please contact the store email [email protected] or call 0879780424.
