Jack & Jill won the Best Governance Improvement Awards (Category 3) at the Carmichael Ireland Good Governance Awards 2019.
Now in its fourth year, The Good Governance Awards is an initiative that recognises and encourages adherence to good governance practice by nonprofits in Ireland.
Speaking on behalf of Jack & Jill CEO Carmel Doyle said “To say we are chuffed with our Good Governance Award is an understatement.
She continued, “According to Deirdre Garvey from the judging panel, the prestigious awards “demonstrated clearly that the organisations that applied are now moving beyond just ensuring that the appropriate policies and procedures are in place to ensure an organisation is run well. They are now demonstrating that good governance is not just about rules and regulations imposed by ‘someone else’. It is an attitude of mind. It’s about how the work is done. It is about creating an ethical culture in the organisation and the behaviour of the people on the governing body, particularly their attitude towards the service users.”
