Ambassador and soccer sensation Stephanie Roche to launch Circle K car wash initiative raising a minimum of €35,000 for The Jack and Jill’s Children’s Foundation.
Circle K, Ireland’s forecourt and convenience retailer and largest car wash provider, has today announced the return of its Christmas car wash initiative in aid of the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation, excluding Circle K Express, for the third year in a row. The festive initiative is set to bring joy to both motorists and a worthy cause throughout the holiday season with all funds raised going directly to The Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation.
From Monday 18th December to Sunday 24th December 2023 inclusive, €1 from every car wash purchased at a Circle K, will automatically be donated to The Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation. Not only is Christmas the most wonderful time of the year, but according to new data from Circle K, it is also the most popular time of the year to visit a car wash. The retailer experienced a 75% increase in car wash sales the week of Christmas last year compared to any other time of year.
This initiative comes on the back of Circle K’s Fuel promotion in May, and its partnership with Cannonball, which along with many other initiatives have now raised over €180,000 collectively for the Jack & Jill foundation this year and €286,000 to date.
Through its Christmas car wash initiative, Circle K aims to raise at least €35,000 in much-needed funds for the children’s charity. A donation of this size funds 1,944 hours of specialist home nursing care support over 400 families Jack and Jill’s care across the country. By visiting a Circle K car wash in the week before Christmas, motorists can join in the holiday spirit and make a meaningful contribution to an important cause.
Circle K ambassador, soccer sensation and broadcaster Stephanie Roche said:
“I am thrilled to support Circle K and Jack and Jill as they go for a festive hat trick and launch a Christmas car wash initiative again this year in stores nationwide. Once again, Circle K has made it easier than ever for customers to support an important cause, as €1 from every car wash sold between December 18th and 24th will go to the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation. There is a Circle K in every community in Ireland, so not only by participating in this initiative will customers drive home for Christmas with their car looking its best, but it also reminds Jack and Jill families nationwide that their communities support them’.
Commenting on the initiative, Emmet Toft, Category Manager at Circle K Ireland added:
“We are so pleased to be able to continue to support the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation. As the holiday spirit fills the air, we are delighted to announce the return of our Christmas car wash initiative in support of the Jack and Jill Children’s foundation for the third year in a row. This initiative will once again help raise vital funds for the Jack and Jill Children’s foundation so they can continue to deliver their invaluable services to so many families across Ireland. This year we are set to raise a minimum of €35,000 for the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation. It’s not just a car wash, it’s a heartfelt contribution to a cause that truly matters, and together, with our wonderful customers we will make a difference in the lives of over 400 children in communities nationwide.”
Carmel Doyle, CEO of the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation added:
“This has been a very sad week for Jack and Jill, as we mourn our wonderful brave and kind Founder, Jonathan Irwin, who passed away on Sunday morning, after a short illness. While we celebrate Jonathan’s life and considerable achievements, we are determined to continue his legacy by supporting the families under the care of the Foundation he loved so much, and put so much energy, enthusiasm, and commitment into, up to the very end.
To that effect, we are hugely grateful to our friends in Circle K for their continued support. With more children under our care than ever before and an 8% increase in our core service year-on-year, in which only 25% of our €6.8 million annual budget is coming from the government; we really rely on the kindness of the public, communities, and businesses who support us. By visiting your local Circle K, you can help raise essential funds for Jack and Jill families in your local community while enjoying the convenience of Circle K’s top-notch car wash services. It’s a win-win situation for motorists and will help us in our mission to provide in-home nursing care and respite support to families caring for children, up to the age of six, with very complex and life-limiting medical needs at home, where they belong.”
