Christmas can be both a stressful and happy time for parents, especially our Jack and Jill parents.
Being a carer for a child with extra special needs is no easy task. Juggling the roles of parent and carer with the needs of other siblings, work and everything else life throws at you, can be overwhelming. That’s where Jack & Jill steps in, by supporting ordinary parents in extraordinary circumstances, helping them to keep their precious child warm and cosy and well cared for at home.
At the heart of Jack & Jill is that sense of community. A model of child and family centred care. Dedicated nurses. Hard working fundraisers. And a real understanding that what’s under the Christmas tree is way less important than the people around it.
Our families rely on us and we rely on them. That’s what community is all about.
So, I want to thank everyone who has supported us throughout the year. Whether you’ve climbed Up The Hill for Jack & Jill, run a marathon, attended or organised an event, bought cards or candles, or introduced us to a new corporate partner – thank you for being part of our community. Your support helps us to fund and deliver specialist home nursing hours for 350 children, allowing families to do normal routine things that we all can take for granted. We call it “The Gift of Time”.
And there’s no present like the time, especially at Christmas.
