Successful Irish Olympic event rider, Joseph Murphy will be holding a charity open day at his Kildare base, in Kilcullen on the 4th April 2013 in aid of the Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet Joseph and his horses, including his back up staff, owners and sponsors. This is a great opportunity to see the horses in their home environment and get a feel of the day to day running of a professional run event team.
Spectators will have the opportunity to listen to international coach and speaker William Micklem and see Joseph in action with his Olympic SJ coach followed by a short cross country demo. Special guest, champion flat jockey, Johnny Murtagh is there to impress in a dressage saddle and all for a great cause in the Jack & Jill Foundation, which has supported over 1600 severely disabled children with home nursing care since 1997, including 91 children in Kildare.
The day is ‘open’ to everyone and should appeal to all ages from pony club children and their parents to under-age squad riders who will gain an insight of the day to day running of a professional set-up and everyone is welcome; by kind permission of the Connor-Nelson Family.
Tickets must be booked in advance – at a cost of a €10 per person or a family ticket of 4 for €30 (children under 12 go free) – all proceeds throughout the day in aid of the Jack & Jill Foundation.
