The Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation has cancelled its Golf Classic in Carton House on Friday September 4th, due to the extended lockdown in County Kildare.
Ours was a Golf Only event, with no dinner planned, but cancelling is the right thing to do in this challenging Covid-19 environment, as we follow the health guidelines. We did consider postponing until later this year, but with so much uncertainty regarding events, we have decided to postpone until 2021.
Yet another cancelled event like this, does make it even more challenging to fill the €250,000 projected shortfall in our fundraising income this year, but we are hoping that our golf supporters will switch their attention to other ways to donate to Jack & Jill, such as our online auction happening this week and perhaps bidding for Shane Lowry’s 18th hole flag from the Open Championships in Royal Portrush or his signed hat and glove?
The online Auction Thrill for Jack & Jill is live and doing well, closing this Friday 28th August at 7pm, with people bidding for over 40 lots, all donated to the charity. Why not take a look?
