Please take a look at our 2018 Annual Report which demonstrates the community reach and reputation of the Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation model of care and how that is funded. We are very proud to showcase the critical work of our nurses, with Sinead Moran nurse manager giving an overview of an average week and ‘Angelmom Strong’ Joan Johnston giving us an insight into life with Leo. This report is sprinkled with picture stories and case studies from our extra special children across the country and the corporate partners that help keep the show on the road.
As our chairman Donal Kavanagh says, “Our model of care is at the heart of the weekly and monthly care regime of our families with our nurses and carers a continuous, rather than a once off, presence in the home.” This is backed up by facts like the 123,884 hours funded by Jack & Jill in 2018 and how direct charitable expenditure on care is 73% of our total expenditure. All well worth considering when deciding which charities offer the best value for donation in Ireland and our county breakdown continues to open boardroom doors thank goodness.
This county reach is extended further by our growing number of charity boutiques which are windows onto local communities as well as bargain centres for clothes, gifts and furniture. Our ongoing challenge is one of sustainability and with only 20% of our funding requirement coming from the HSE, we continue to rely on the generosity of our donors, families, volunteers, corporate partners and our dedicated team of nurses and fundraisers and board members who go above and beyond for Jack & Jill. On behalf of the 350 children we support today, thank you for taking the time to read our report
