Jack and Jill is inviting companies across Ireland to become 100 Hour Heroes in 2025 to help provide in-home nursing care and respite support to children under our care.
By pledging €1,800, companies can fund 100 hours of vital care, giving families the invaluable gift of time – to rest, recharge, and focus on what matters most: caring for their child in the comfort of their own home.
Why Your Support Matters
Since 1997, Jack and Jill has supported over 3,100 families nationwide, offering much-needed nursing care for children with severe learning disability often associated with complex medical needs. These children often require round-the-clock care, and their parents, understandably, face exhaustion and burnout. That is where Jack and Jill steps in ensuring families receive the support they need to stay together at home, where their child belongs.
One such family is the Heapes from Lucan, Co. Dublin, whose daughter Aurora (5) has been supported by Jack and Jill since she was discharged from the hospital at six months old. Aurora’s father, Phil Heapes, recalls the challenges of managing his daughter’s Nasogastric feeding tube and how Jack and Jill nurses provided both practical assistance and much-needed reassurance:
“Jack and Jill are the only reason that my daughter came home. Without Jack and Jill being available to us, Aurora could never have been discharged from hospital”.
From guidance on medical care to emotional support, Jack and Jill’s nursing team has been a lifeline for the Heapes and hundreds of other families across Ireland.
How Your Company Can Make an Impact
By becoming a 100 Hour Hero, your company is directly funding hours of care for families like the Heapes. Every €18 donation funds one hour of nursing support, and every hour makes a difference.
As Corporate Fundraising Executive Tina Priestley explains:
“By joining this initiative, businesses not only impact local families but also align with a purpose-driven cause that resonates with employees and communities.”
Recognition & Benefits for Your Business
Jack and Jill values its corporate partners, and every company that signs up for the 100 Hour Hero campaign will receive:
- A framed certificate, window sticker, and digital badge to showcase your support.
- Recognition on the Jack and Jill website and social media channels.
- Opportunities for workplace fundraising, staff engagement, and volunteering.
- A chance to strengthen your company’s ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) goals.
Beyond these benefits, your support directly enhances the lives of children and families in your community.
A Company That Knows the Impact Firsthand
Future Stainless, a Wexford-based company, has been a proud supporter of Jack and Jill for years. Managing Director Fergus Heffernan shares why they continue to give back:
“Jack and Jill was there for our daughter Emma when we needed them most. It has been 11 years since her passing, and in her memory, our team has proudly supported Jack and Jill. Now, I’m encouraging other businesses to join us in becoming a 100 Hour Hero. Through this simple act, your company can help provide essential care and support to families who need it.”
