Glenveagh Staff to go head-to-head in Takeover of Jack and Jill Charity Boutiques in Artane, Newbridge and Portlaoise to Raise Funds and Help Support Local Families
On Friday, 14th June 2024, a team of over 30 Glenveagh staff volunteers will take over three Jack and Jill charity boutiques in Artane (Dublin), Newbridge (Kildare) and Portlaoise (Laois), going head-to-head in competition with each other to raise much-needed funds to support local Jack and Jill families in their respective communities. There are currently 97 families across Dublin, 32 families across Kildare and 8 families across Laois, under the care of Jack and Jill.
The charity shop takeover will see the teams competing and deploying their best and most innovative sales techniques to achieve the highest sales on the day, all in aid of Glenveagh’s charity partner, the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation, which funds and delivers in-home nursing care and respite support to families caring for children, up to the age of six, with neurodevelopmental delay associated with a severe cognitive delay. This may include children with brain injury, a genetic diagnosis, cerebral palsy, and undiagnosed conditions. Another key part of the service is end-of-life-care for all children up to the age of six, irrespective of diagnosis.
Jack and Jill’s mission is to empower the families it supports to care for their child at home, by funding and delivering nursing, respite and advocacy. The charity mobilises a crew of community nurses and carers, operates seven days a week, with no means test, no red tape and no waiting list. There are currently over 400 children under the care of Jack and Jill right across the country and the charity’s mission is to empower parents to care for their child at home, because there is no care like home care for a Jack and Jill child.
From pre-loved designer goods to budget-friendly clothing and accessories and collectables up for grabs; a visit to the Jack and Jill charity boutiques in Artane, Newbridge and Portlaoise is a must for any savvy shoppers at any stage, and particularly on Friday, June 14th! With all three Glenveagh volunteer teams currently busy finalising their game-plan ahead of the big day, their focus is now on securing coveted designer goods and pre-loved items that will be a hit with shoppers, raffle prizes to generate extra funds and creating additional buzz around the vital fundraiser for Jack and Jill.
