The Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby Ball, one of the social highlights of the summer season, was held on Friday, 24th June in the magnificent surroundings of The K Club
Our sincere thanks to Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of Dubai Duty Free Colm McLoughlin and his team for making it a “hat-trick” for Jack & Jill by choosing us as the beneficiary charity for the 3rd year.
With expectations high, this gala night never fails to impress and was once again a huge success filled with glitz and glamour, laughs and banter and many surprises enjoyed by guests from the worlds of sport, the arts, business and entertainment and even some from Australia, America, Dubai and the UK flying in especially for the occasion.
With a fantastic line up of entertainment a ‘Heroes and Legends’ theme prevailed throughout the evening including appearances by Celtic warrior drummers, ‘Cú Chulainn’ and ‘Queen Maeve’ complete with Irish Wolfhounds, all of which added to the wonderful spectacle and atmosphere of the Irish mythology theme. With Tracy Piggott taking on the role of MC, and the very professional John O’Kelly presiding over the charity auction which included a Holiday to Dubai, Supercar Driving Experience including a meet & greet with Kris Meeke, Ireland’s No. 1 Rally Driver, this wonderful event raised over €50K for Jack & Jill profoundly sick children in every community throughout Ireland equating to 3,125 hours of home nursing respite care. What a wonderful gift! Celebrations went on until the early hours of Saturday morning as guests danced the night away to the sounds of the magnificent Bentley Boys Band.
