On Wednesday night, at Dublin’s Mansion House, Team Jack and Jill were thrilled to win Finance Team of the Year at the Charity Excellence Awards.
This prestigious accolade from the Charities Institute recognises outstanding financial leadership demonstrated by a finance team within a charity.
The award citation commended the Jack and Jill Finance team for exemplifying “dedication, innovation, and impactful leadership” and for their “unwavering commitment to changing the lives of hundreds of families.”
Jack and Jill CEO Carmel Doyle said:
“As a charity with a €6.8m annual budget and a mission to support and empower over 400 families to care for their child at home, by funding and delivering home nursing care hours, we must always show where the money goes and how the donation makes a real impact. At Jack and Jill we take that responsibility very seriously by demonstrating transparency, ethical fundraising and good governance in practice. I couldn’t be prouder of our brilliant fundraising team, and it is great to see their efforts acknowledged through this award.”
Earlier this year, Jack and Jill was one of 119 registered charities to secure Triple Lock Status from the Charities Institute, which is awarded to charities that uphold the highest standards in transparent reporting, ethical fundraising and strong governance structures.
This recognition is the gold standard for Irish charities and offers assurances to donors, stakeholders, members and the general public, against the backdrop of a very crowded sector, with 11,500 registered charities in Ireland in 2023.
In January 2023, Jack and Jill conducted research exploring its trust and awareness scores with the public to inform the charity’s strategic planning. The Empathy Research study revealed that there are high levels of trust associated with the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation, with 66% of the public claiming they trust Jack and Jill. This trust score rises to 89% when cross referenced with those who understand the service it provides.
“Our ambition is to continue raising those trust scores, as we demonstrate a high-quality service that delivers real impact for families, all backed up by a committed board and team of people who play their part in the community of care across the country” concluded Carmel Doyle.
